Rahul Dravid and Ajit Agarkar recently visited Columbia University in New York City to pay tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and a notable Columbia alumnus. Vishal Misra, Vice Dean of Computing and AI at the university, shared photos of the visit on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting their homage to Ambedkar.

“Dravid and Agarkar paying their respects to the father of the Indian constitution and a Columbia PhD Dr BR Ambedkar,” Misra posted. The bust of Ambedkar, located in the Lehman Social Sciences Library, was sculpted by Vinay Brahmesh Wagh and gifted to the university in 1995.

The visit occurred amid the Indian cricket team’s participation in the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA. India began their campaign with a victory over Ireland on June 5 and is set to face Pakistan on June 9 in New York. Dravid and Agarkar’s visit underscores their respect for Ambedkar’s legacy
